Our History
Charles E. Howells began serving utilities in Iowa and Nebraska in 1968 after moving to Omaha as an A.B. Chance salesman. He worked for Chance until 1976, then became a manufacturer's representative. In 1982 he founded C.E. Howells Sales Company, which grew and in 1997 was renamed EnergySolutions, Inc.
Charles E. Howells passed away in September 2022 at age 88.
Our Growth
In 1997 Scott Howells became company President, succeeding Charlie. Over the next 20 years he grew the business and its reputation, building a strong manufacturer’s rep firm and setting us up for future growth. He worked in the industry for 38 years and retired from ESI on February 28, 2020.
Our Future
ESI announced the new principals of the agency, Mike Amfahr and Adam Nelson, effective March 1st, 2020.
Mike and Adam have 38 years of combined experience at EnergySolutions, Inc. and have worked together on the ownership transition since 2016. They are equal principal owners and look forward to many more years of shared success with our manufacturers and clients.
